Your Photo Session Is Over. Now What?
What happens between the last click of the camera and your finished Studio4one5 gallery.
The session is over.
Maybe the kids are already asking what’s for dinner. Maybe your newborn is finally asleep. Maybe you're driving home wondering whether that one moment you loved actually made it into a photograph.
And somewhere in there, you might be wondering:
So…what happens to all those photos now?
Quite a lot, actually.
When we put the cameras away, one part of your Studio4one5 experience is finished. But another part is just beginning.
Because taking the photographs is only the first half of telling your story.
First, we make sure your memories are safe
Before we start thinking about favorites or editing, the photographs from your session need to be safely backed up.
It's not the most glamorous part of photography, but it's one of the most important.
These aren't just files to us. They're moments that can't necessarily be recreated — especially with a newborn, a wedding, or a particular season of your family's life.
So before anything else happens, we make sure they're protected.
Then we look through everything
We take more photographs during a session than you'll ultimately see in your finished gallery.
That's intentional.
We're photographing movement. Expressions. Relationships. The obvious moments and the tiny ones happening just outside them.
A child might glance up at a parent for half a second.
Someone starts laughing just after the photograph everyone thought we were taking.
A newborn stretches, yawns or curls a tiny hand around a parent's finger.
Those moments aren't always something we can plan.
So we give ourselves room to find them.
After your session, we carefully work through everything we photographed and begin choosing the images that belong in your finished collection.

We're not just looking for the technically “best” photograph
Of course we're paying attention to focus, lighting and composition.
But that's not the whole decision.
Sometimes we have several technically beautiful photographs in front of us, and one of them simply feels more like you.
That's the one we're looking for.
We notice the expression on someone's face. The way two people are interacting. The photograph where your child stopped performing for the camera and their actual personality appeared.
Those are often our favorites.
Because years from now, perfect posture probably isn't what you'll want to remember.
You'll want to remember them.
Then the editing begins
Once we've selected the photographs that tell your story best, we begin editing them individually.
This is where we refine what was already there.
We work with things like light, color, contrast, cropping and skin tones. We may clean up small distractions that pull your eye away from what's actually important in the photograph.
But we're not trying to turn your family into somebody else.
We don't want everyone to look airbrushed into perfection or your photographs to feel so heavily processed that they stop feeling real.
The editing should support the moment — not become the moment.
Our goal is for the finished photographs to still feel like the people who were standing in front of our cameras.

We're also looking at the gallery as a whole
A Studio4one5 gallery isn't meant to feel like a random collection of good photographs.
It should feel like a story.
There are the photographs you'll probably print and hang on the wall.
But there are also the quieter ones.
A little hand.
A ridiculous expression.
Someone laughing.
The way your partner looked at you when you weren't paying attention.
The photograph you didn't know we took.
Individually, those images matter.
Together, they tell you what this season of your life actually felt like.
That's why we don't rush through this part.
So if things seem a little quiet after your session…
We're still here.
Your photographs aren't sitting forgotten on a memory card somewhere.
They're being backed up, reviewed, selected, edited and brought together into your finished gallery.
And there's nothing you need to be doing while that's happening.
Go back to normal life.
Feed the baby. Chase the kids. Finish unpacking from the wedding. Put the comfortable clothes back on.
We've got the photographs from here.
And when everything is ready, you'll get one of our favorite emails to send:
Your gallery is ready.
Then they're yours to revisit, share, print and eventually look back on when this version of your life doesn't feel quite so recent anymore.
Because ultimately, that's why we do all of this.
Not simply to make beautiful photographs.
We want you to look at them years from now and think:
“That's exactly who we were.”
Studio4one5 photographs weddings, families, maternity and newborn stories throughout Boise, Nampa, Meridian, Caldwell, Eagle and the greater Treasure Valley.
Real moments, authentically captured.
