Welcoming a new baby is one of the most incredible, overwhelming, beautiful things that can happen in a family's life. And in the middle of all those sleepless nights and sweet little snuggles, we get to come in and capture it all. Here's what we want every new parent to know before their newborn session.

1. The best time for newborn photos is within the first two weeks of life. Babies are sleepier and more flexible during this window, which makes for those adorable curled-up poses.

2. Feed your baby right before we start. A full, sleepy baby is a cooperative baby!

3. Keep your home warm. We'll have the heat up a bit higher than usual so baby stays cozy and calm without their layers.

4. Plan for 2–4 hours. We never rush. Babies need feeding breaks, diaper changes, and soothing time — and that's completely okay.

5. Include the whole family. Sibling shots and parent close-ups are some of the most treasured images from any newborn session. Don't skip them!

Above all, relax and enjoy the experience. These tiny days go by so fast. Let us worry about the camera — you just soak in every little detail of your brand new baby.
